Innovation in Preanalytics
- Invention comprises unique plastic applicators with various molded tips correct for the human anatomy. Tips are sprayed with short strands of nylon fiber which bond in a perpendicular fashion.
- Flocked swabs have no inside; sample is absorbed by the strong capillary power between the fibers and remains very close to the surface.
- When the swab is placed in the transport medium the entire sample elutes immediately which allows for automation.
